Makina Shinozaki (篠崎 護月 Shinozaki Makina ), also known as the (Mysterious) Old Woman ((謎の)老婆 (Nazo no) Rōba ), is a minor character introduced in Corpse Party: Book of Shadows.
Design
Makina appears as an old lady. She has long, messy white hair. Her eyes are not visible. She wears a brown jacket over a beige shirt and black pants that are slightly torn.
Personality
Makina is a stubborn old woman who is aware of her bloodline's curse. She warns people whose lives are endangered by the curse of Heavenly Host Elementary School or Nirvana.

Episode #3;『Encounter』
Makina appears in the third episode under the title of "Old Woman." While Yui Shishido departs for school, she meets her. Makina warns her to not go to school, but Yui declines. She then hands her a paper charm with Yui's name on it, but Yui drops it in a puddle. The old woman then collapses and Yui calls for an ambulance for her as Makina is taken to the hospital. Later on, it is said she had died there.
In the events that happened later that night, Makina supposedly attacked Yoshie Shinozaki, so Yui and Tsukasa Mikuni could be saved.

CHAPTER 00『 A Faint Light 』
Makina's spirit calls Ayumi Shinozaki's phone when she's about to enter her residence, repeatedly saying "Don't go".
Makina's spirit also appears before Ayumi after she takes a red box placed on a futon, and makes her unable to escape from the house, repeatedly saying "Don't go" which scares Ayumi till she passes out due to fear and her sensitivity toward spirits. Makina's spirit is gone when Yoshiki Kishinuma, Naomi Nakashima, and Satoshi Mochida come to her rescue.Significant plot details end here.
Etymology
- The name Makina means "safeguard, protect" (護) (maki) and "moon" (月) (na).
- Makina's surname Shinozaki means "dwarf bamboo" (篠) (shino) and "cape, peninsula" (崎) (saki/zaki).
Trivia
- The Old Woman's identity was never stated until Corpse Party: Sweet Sachiko's Hysteric Birthday Bash, where it was revealed that she is actually Ayumi Shinozaki's great-great-aunt.
