Kaori Hasegawa (長谷川 香織 (カオリ) Hasegawa Kaori ) is a major character introduced in CORPSE-PARTY ZERO and the game's main protagonist, a student of Tendo Senior High School's classroom III-B, and a victim of Heavenly Host.
She is the elder sister of Shiho Hasegawa.

Though originally a survivor of the old schoolhouse in her first appearance, she is shown as a victim trapped as a spirit in Heavenly Host as of the remake of the original game.

In Corpseparty; Musume she has long black hair cut horizontally in the front.
Personality
Kaori is a well learned individual in both literary and military arts. She has been gifted with both brains and beauty. She is a part of the student council. Kaori enjoys teasing her younger sister, Shiho Hasegawa, with ghost stories. However this time it seems to have gotten them wrapped up in something sinister. She pretends to be strong in front of her sister, but in reality, she is scared.
Plot
CORPSE-PARTY
Ten letters reporting a dialogue between two girls can be found in cabinets throughout the game. Although Kaori's or Shiho's names are not specifically addressed, popular fan theory is that they are the authors of these letters. While these letters are not necessary to complete the game, they do give some important hints for progression.

Kaori's name tag can be found in the corpse disposal room. She died from pain after receiving a blunt force trauma and multiple fractures.

Kaori's corpse is discovered by Satoshi Mochida and Naomi Nakashima. Her ghost subsequently manifests itself and tells them about the school's curse and Sachiko Shinozaki. A similar event occurs in the original PC-98 game where a male corpse explains the same thing to Satoshi's party in classroom 2-4.
Etymology
- The name Kaori means "fragrance, fragrant" (香) (ka) and "weave, weaving" (織) (ori).
- Kaori's surname Hasegawa means "long, chief, boss" (長) (ha), "valley" (谷) (se) and "river, stream" (川) (kawa/gawa).
Trivia
- While in her first appearance in ZERO she is a survivor of old schoolhouse, she dies in any other appearance she makes.
