—Ayumi Shinozaki, Corpse Party (PC) (CHAPTER 2) |
|
Ayumi Shinozaki (篠崎 あゆみ Shinozaki Ayumi ) is a character introduced in CORPSE-PARTY (PC-98), a major recurring character in the Heavenly Host Saga and the main protagonist of Corpse Party: Blood Drive.
She is also a former second year student and class representative at Kisaragi Academy and one of the five original survivors of Heavenly Host.
She is the second generation grandniece of Makina Shinozaki, the first cousin twice removed of Yoshie Shinozaki, the second cousin once removed of Sachi and Sachiko Shinozaki, and the younger sister of Hinoe Shinozaki.
Design
In CORPSE-PARTY (PC-98) and CORPSE PARTY -Rebuilt-, Ayumi has black hair styled into two big pigtails, held with pink head ties. Her eyes are orange. She also wears a blue short-sleeved uniform, the collar tied with a red bow, a blue skirt, crew length white socks and red shoes.
During the Heavenly Host Saga, Ayumi is a teenage girl of below average height and build with blue eyes and long brown hair (later changed to dark blue) styled into two pigtails, held with red hair ties.
She wore the standard issue Kisaragi Academy Senior High female uniform consisting of a tan colored sailor outfit with a blue collar, light blue cuffs, yellow ribbon held by a blue brooch, blue pleated skirt, white knee-high socks and white uwabaki slippers with blue stripes near the soles. Her student ID is pinned on the left side of her shirt. Later in Corpse Party: Blood Drive, a light brown sweater was added over as part of the school's winter uniform.
In the Corpse Party: Blood Covered manga, Ayumi is shown to wear a pair of glasses when she reads or draws on the computer. Her casual attire consists of a long-sleeved shirt with laces at the end of the sleeve, a sleeveless dress with lace hem skirt on top of the shirt. She ties her hair ponytail with a scrunchie.
In Corpse Party: Missing Footage, Ayumi is seen wearing an orange hoodie.
At the end of Blood Drive, Ayumi is seen a spring green T-shirt and a white eye-patch over her right eye.
In Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient, Ayumi wore a brown cardigan, hot pink skirt, a wide-sleeved white jacket. In the updated version, she still wore the same outfit, but sporting the eye patch carried over from Blood Drive.
In the Corpse Party live action movie, Ayumi's hair is longer, brown and cut horizontally in front. She also has a mole under her left eye.
Personality
In CORPSE-PARTY and CORPSE PARTY -Rebuilt-, Ayumi is the class representative who loves to scare people. She loves to tell ghost stories and it's rumored that's why she carries around a bunch of candles. In actuality, she tells those stories to hide her own fear.
In Corpse Party, Ayumi is a tough girl with great interest about the occult, and likes to scare her friends with ghost stories. However, this is her way to hide her easily frightened personality, even rivaling that of her classmate, Satoshi Mochida. However, she can be brave when it's needed, as demonstrated when she returned to Heavenly Host to rescue the survivors, despite the possible consequences. She is also insecure about her ambitions to become an illustrator, having been discouraged by more experienced ones. As a result, she often goes to her sister, Hinoe Shinozaki, or sometimes her teacher, Yui Shishido, for advice. She was a fan of Naho Saenoki and her works until the recent events in Heavenly Host.
But despite her occasional selfish or jealous actions, Ayumi really does care about her friends, even more than herself, and hates it when people go out of their way for her.
In the Corpse Party: Blood Covered manga, Ayumi has a much stronger personality. She lashes out at Yoshiki less and does grow to understand him better.
In Corpse Party: Blood Drive, after spending over two months of trying to swallow all her guilt and self-pity of losing her friends in Heavenly Host, Ayumi's character had a drastic change. Her desire to save her friends turns into an obsession, making her doing it to ease her guilt more than her genuine care for them. She grows to be more self-centered, caring less and less over time about how her death could impact her friends, preferring to walk the extra miles by herself and not wanting anyone else involved in her own problems. In addition, Ayumi begins to be more gullible and naive, as she trusts people too easily due to her desperation in saving her friends.
Over the course of the game, she manages to conquer her guilt, self-pity and fear at the end. Ayumi is no longer a dependent and weak girl who needs to be protected by others, but a strong girl who resolves to save everyone at all costs.
After consuming the Nirvana, Ayumi's personality is all but wiped clean, leaving her in a seemingly vegetative state, possessing no emotions, and being unable to move. However, she is shown at the end of Blood Drive to at least be mentally present and possibly aware of her surroundings.

Corpse Party
CHAPTER 1
Ayumi, along with several classmates, stayed late at night at their school after the Kisaragi Academy's cultural festival and told scary stories. Before they all left for the night, Ayumi decided to perform a charm, as one of their classmates, Mayu Suzumoto, is transferring. This charm, which she calls Sachiko Ever After, would allow them to remain friends, no matter how far apart they were. After they performed the ceremony, a large earthquake shook the school, and created a massive hole, which everyone in the classroom fell through.
CHAPTER 2
After she regained her senses, Ayumi found that only Yoshiki and their teacher, Yui, were there with her. They learn of their whereabouts, the very Heavenly Host Elementary School that Ayumi mentioned earlier during one of her stories. They remained in the classroom for a while, until hearing the scream of Naomi Nakashima. Upon hearing the pained cry of her friend, Ayumi began to panic, causing her to hyperventilate. Yui decided to go search for Naomi, leaving Yoshiki to calm her down. Some time later, a calmed down Ayumi senses that something may have happened to Yui, and goes to search for her with Yoshiki.
At one point, Ayumi pushes Yoshiki aside before running off, causing Yoshiki to become concerned and go after her. Yoshiki finds Ayumi standing in the corner of the room with an unusually large grin on her face along with her speaking nonsense. Yoshiki calls her name and Ayumi comes back to her senses with no recollection of the event.
Ayumi and Yoshiki are then stalked by one of the ghost children for a short period, but they manage to avoid him.
While exploring the lavatories later, Yoshiki again finds Ayumi staring down at the floor grinning wildly, before returning to normal. As they further examine the stalls, Ayumi notices a shadow on the floor and begins to hear a voice before screaming, as the toilet stall creaks open to reveal a stained interior. Ayumi falls to her knees and begins to hyperventilate before screaming from hearing Naomi's voice, as she runs out of the room soon after.
Outside the lavatory, she again slips into her delirious state. Ayumi returns to normal briefly, which causes Yoshiki to encourage her to fight it, but she slips away again and hits him. Ayumi laughs maniacally and wanders aimlessly as Yoshiki walks away, disturbed. Yoshiki enters the bathroom and has a flashback in which he realizes that Ayumi's friendship is one of the only reasons he stayed in school. He remembers that he forgot to thank her and that he promised to protect her when they entered the school. When Yoshiki comes to, Ayumi storms into the lavatory screaming at him and asking why he is doing this to her. Yoshiki holds her in an effort to bring her back, which works, but causes Ayumi to knock him to the ground in embarrassment. Outside the lavatory, Ayumi explains that, although all of the corpses thus far were not people they knew, someone close to them had died in the girls' lavatory. She also notes that she has no recollection of time between opening the stall and Yoshiki "squeezing the life out of her." Yoshiki hopes she is wrong, but Ayumi relates that she couldn't breathe and felt ice cold, except for a burning heat around her neck, implying that she felt the same sensation that Seiko Shinohara had when she died. Ayumi begins to cry and Yoshiki tells her to calm down before lamenting on the fact they still haven't found Yui.
On the way back to the classroom they encounter a ghost heading into the infirmary. They follow it and can hear a conversation coming from the room. They investigate and find Mayu standing between two girl ghosts. Mayu is apparently friendly with them, but it becomes apparent that she is under their influence when they don't let her leave with Ayumi and Yoshiki. Mayu shows them a newspaper article which explains some of what happened to the ghosts, although the bottom of the article is torn off.
After Ayumi's attempts to "free" Mayu of the ghosts, the spirits lift her into the air, pushing Ayumi and Yoshiki back when they try to approach. Not being able to do anything, they leave the room in an attempt to find help. Outside, Ayumi mentions that she feels cold and Yoshiki points out that her nose is bleeding, causing Ayumi to turn around and tell him to not be so blunt about things like that.
Suddenly a girl appears and greets them, as Yoshiki comments that she has "eyes like a dead fish," and the girl admits that she died in the school quite a while ago and is searching for someone important to her. Ayumi recognizes her as Naho, the author of Ayumi's favorite blog, Naho's Nods to the Netherworld. Yoshiki asks who the important person is and wonders why anyone would come to Heavenly Host willingly, as Naho did. Naho switches the discussion to Mayu and explains that if the spirits are given closure, the closed spaces would break down, as they are only held together by the children's suffering. Naho also mentions that the one who murdered the children is in the school, scaring Yoshiki. She urges Yoshiki and Ayumi to hurry before the spirits hurt Mayu, and leaves.
Back at the infirmary, Yoshiki attempts to threaten the spirits, but is interrupted by Ayumi, who believes that their cause is lost if the spirits become angry with them. Ayumi shows the spirits the repentant doll in an attempt to fulfill the children's need for closure. However, this doesn't work and the spirits drag Mayu into the hallway and slam her into the wall, killing her.
Ayumi discards the doll in frustration and runs away, trembling in fear at seeing Mayu's remains. Yoshiki tries to get her away from the sight, but she shouts, "I CAN'T TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!" and runs up the corridor alone, leaving Yoshiki behind.
CHAPTER 4
After wandering alone for a while, she returns to the infirmary and picks up the doll. The doll begins to weep, which disturbs Ayumi. She also meets with Naho again, and starts calling her a liar and demanding that she brings Mayu back.
Yoshiki then appears with a head wound causing Ayumi to be concerned. Naho explains that the cursed doll belongs to the murderer and therefore must be looking for it. When Yoshiki cuts in and asks who Naho's mentor was, she snaps at him, saying her "personal affairs" are not his concern, and she causes the room to shake, Naho is clearly upset and states that Mayu's death was Ayumi and Yoshiki's fault before disappearing.
Following one of Naho's leads the two of them begin to search the ground floor for clues. When they reach the ground floor, the doll gives a cryptic hint. They decipher it and Yoshiki finds a loose floorboard which hides a bag soaked in blood with a name tag reading "Ryou Yoshizawa". The bag contains a human tongue. The doll whispers that they need to return the tongue and the two decide that it must belong to the boy spirit. They are able to successfully return it, putting the boy to rest and causing another earthquake.
After following more of the doll's hints, they come to a locker room where Ayumi begins to hear ghostly voices and has another nosebleed. Yoshiki tells Ayumi to stay in the locker room, rather than risk getting sick outside. She agrees and Yoshiki explores the pool area. After a while of exploring, Yoshiki hears a splash. After realizing that Ayumi is missing, he jumps into the pool to find her, despite the fact that he cannot swim. He is able to save her and, after questioning, realizes that one of the ghosts tricked Ayumi into thinking that Yoshiki needed her.
Together, they are able to find another tongue bag labeled "Tokiko Tsuji". Back inside, they encounter two ghost girls. They return the tongue to the headless spirit, who is put to rest.
Next, the doll explains that the next tongue is located underneath Mayu's remains, causing Ayumi to throw the doll onto the floor in anger. Suddenly Sakutaro Morishige appears with bloody hands holding a tongue bag. He gives the bag to Yoshiki, explaining that he has no need for "charms." He leaves and two discuss why he would have been touching the remains at all.
The name on the bag is "Yuki Kanno", the girl missing an eye. She thanks them before leaving and Yoshiki mentions that there is only one ghost left. Ayumi throws a fit and states that she feels closer to death herself with each spirit they save. Yoshiki agrees to take the next one when suddenly the school shakes violently.
Yoshiki and Ayumi regain consciousness back at Kisaragi Academy and notice that they are the only ones there. Ayumi screams as the floor in the room becomes darkened with shadows and Yuki appears. Yuki explains what happened the day that she died and thanks Yoshiki and Ayumi for returning her tongue. However, she also explains that the spirits were not fully appeased, which caused Yoshiki to lash out, but Ayumi tells him to hear Yuki out.
Yuki explains that the closed spaces have taken so many lives that they are too powerful for the children to control. When Ayumi asks why their efforts didn't appease the spirits, Yuki shows her exactly how she and the others died by putting Ayumi into her body. The experience proves extremely traumatic for Ayumi, as she was made to feel the same pain and terror as Yuki did when Sachiko Shinozaki stabbed her eye out.
CHAPTER 5
After some arguing, Ayumi and Yoshiki return to Heavenly Host.
Upon returning to the space, Yuki warns Ayumi that she is being overcome by the darkening and will not be able to help them. She hands Ayumi and Yoshiki a Marble Statue to give to Satoshi and explains that they will need to find another one like it. When leaving the classroom, Ayumi and Yoshiki realize that the school has changed and decide to look for Satoshi and the others.
At the main hallway on the first floor, Yoshiki questions Ayumi about the red stain on the back of her skirt, causing Ayumi to become annoyed and embarrassed before she runs on ahead complaining about how she doesn't have a change of clothes.
The two rejoin the rest of the group and discuss different ways to get out. Ayumi states that she wants to try appeasing the spirits in order to ensure that no one else is ever trapped in Heavenly Host again, while the others argue that they just want to get out as quickly and easily as possible. The groups split up again, as the school is now split into two sections by holes.
After finding three of Naho's notes Ayumi and Yoshiki walk past the science lab only for the windows to become sprayed with blood. While distracted, Sachiko unlocks the door and opens it. Inside an anatomical model stands near the door as Ayumi and Yoshiki ignore it and receive the note at the back of the class and leave the room.
Ayumi and Yoshiki find the final note in classroom 1-A, and it appears blank. However, upon inspection it begins to write itself causing concern and explains a bit about Naho's darkening, then both Yoshiki and Ayumi leave the classroom to explore the third floor.
In the reference room, Ayumi and Yoshiki encounter Naho and Ayumi begins to reveal what she has uncovered to Naho. However Naho, while impressed that they found out that Sachiko was the killer all along, states they only solved half the mystery and still needed to determine what Sachiko is before she departs but before she can Ayumi stops her. Naho seems to sense a connection between Ayumi and the boy she encountered in the staff room, but before she can continue Ayumi changes the subject and shows Naho her note on the Sachiko ever after charm while criticizing her for putting the wrong instructions on her blog to which Naho begins to act strangely towards.
Ayumi continues to question Naho, even asking if she ever thought of knowing the consequences of her own actions with Naho reacting claiming she did right for Kou and would do anything for him, even protecting his job. It turns out that Naho can't remember her final thoughts before death and at that point Ayumi tells her that she had succumbed to the darkening before dying, before showing her the evidence that she in fact killed Kou, causing the darkening within her to be purged, disappearing in the process. Yoshiki questions if they are in some kind of horror movie before checking on Ayumi as the two of them pick up the Baby Statue and meet up with the others just outside the room.
During their conversation, Ayumi and Yoshiki were horrified that Sakutaro had died and Ayumi wished people would stop dying so easily before handing back Naomi's Student ID to Naomi, along with the Baby Statue, and telling her not to lose the scrap of charm paper again.
Upon departing from the others, Ayumi and Yoshiki head back into the reference room only to find the principal standing there before disappearing, leaving a scrapbook full of information of the murder case behind which Ayumi and Yoshiki begin to read. They find out that Sachiko is older than previously thought as the two leave the room and proceed down the stairwell.
At the bottom of the stairs Sachiko approaches them and they both flee back up the stairwell, only to be stopped and paralyzed as they are forced to watch the event that causes both Yoshie Shinozaki and Sachiko to lose their lives. However, at the end of the event, the principal suddenly returns and sets his eyes on Ayumi saying, "You saw, didn't you?" Struggling to move, Ayumi and Yoshiki do their best to force themselves out of paralysis with Yoshiki eventually breaking free, taking Ayumi with him, and fleeing down the corridor until they are safe.
Ayumi and Yoshiki soon enter a room with strange markings on the floor resembling a summoning circle, as Ayumi mentions the room looked like it was used for black magic when Yoshiki mentions the incinerator. Ayumi asks him to go on ahead and he proceeds out the room, but Ayumi realizes she didn't say anything and that the door has locked behind Yoshiki when suddenly Yui appears and tries to speak to Ayumi. Initially, Ayumi dismisses her voice, claiming it to be false, however after some evidence, she realizes Yui is real and begins to worry about her wounds. Suddenly the floor gives way and Ayumi luckily is able to grab onto her teacher's leg and climb up her body as Yoshiki breaks the door down. As Ayumi and Yoshiki attempt to help her, Yui demands they get out the room while they can. Ayumi begins to cry as Yoshiki and Yui encourage her to go on with her chosen path before leaving the room.
Ayumi begins to cry outside, exclaiming she "doesn't care anymore," when Yoshiki explains to her that she needs to be strong like Yui said before noticing the principal standing outside of the incinerator. He then enters and Yoshiki attempts to follow but Ayumi stops him briefly worried about someone lighting up the incinerator while they're inside. When told to wait behind by Yoshiki as he enters the incinerator, Ayumi immediately follows as they dive deeper into the machine. Eventually they are warned by Sachiko to turn back but they ignore her warning before being knocked out and falling into the waste pit.
Ayumi awakens in the abandoned bomb shelter's waste room only to find lots of dead students and a missing Yoshiki. Ayumi calls his name without response, at first causing her to become upset, when suddenly Yoshiki calls out to Ayumi, jumps out of the ash, and is able to cheer her up before the two of them leave the room.
Outside, they run into Satoshi and Yuka Mochida and explain that Naomi has ran off chasing Yoshikazu Yanagihori and Ayumi and Yoshiki detail Yui's fate while Ayumi cries with Yoshiki telling her to stay strong again. Further up the corridor, they encounter Yuki who tells Ayumi that she has been stricken with darkening and if they hurry she can stop it, Yuki also explains that Sachiko is just ahead of the party and to go quickly. Before leaving, she tells the others that Naomi is fighting her own demons and hopes everyone is ready to fight.
Beyond the main basement room was a smaller room where the group finds Yoshikazu's remains before proceeding on. In the main basement room a ringing sounds hurts Ayumi's and Yuka's ears and not before long Sachiko's body along with the three children spirits appear, as Sachiko tells the group to stay away and not to look at her, however, Satoshi demands that she listens as they mean her no harm but Sachiko continues to threaten them.
Sachiko's red form appears before the group, paralyzing them before walking over to Yuka and proceeding to stab her with scissors, with the others being powerless to move. Then Sachiko's white form appears before the group, now with Ayumi telling Satoshi to begin appeasing her. Satoshi begins by handing back her tongue which restores a little of her humanity before handing over the Black Cat Plushie, causing the group to break free of their paralysis and causing Sachiko to scream uncontrollably.
Naomi returns suddenly just in time to take part in the reversal charm which Ayumi starts and everyone follows chanting correctly in order to weaken Sachiko enough to escape. When completed, Sachiko's body and the child spirits disappear while Ayumi tends to Yuka's wound, however Yuki suddenly appears before the party and tells them to escape as it's their only chance as once the school closes they will be trapped there forever. When Ayumi asks why she still hasn't escaped Yuki explains she and the other child spirits have become part of the space and can't be saved and that the school is already making another Sachiko and tells them to go. The school then begins to shake suddenly and a red dress begins to take shape on Yuki.
The party runs as fast as they can to the exit while listening to the bell toll in the background as the air got thicker with each toll, outside they all climb over the fence of the walkway and are successfully whisked back to their own school.
Upon their return home the group is overjoyed and happy, however the loss of their friends and teacher quickly hit them hard. Ayumi tells everyone to be careful on their way home and also not to stay home the next day but to come to school before everyone left for home.
However, Ayumi and the others find out that their friends were not only killed but also erased from the minds and memories of everyone else except them, making them the only ones who remember that they actually existed as human beings.
EXCHAP 3
Ayumi knocks at the door to her sister, Hinoe's, room. She is crying for some reason, and Hinoe consoles her. Ayumi asks what age her sister was when she made up her mind on her job as a psychic, and Hinoe answers that she was around the same age as Ayumi and she believed that a higher power was guiding her despite many people opposed to the idea. Ayumi admires her sister because she has no self-confidence on her own abilities, and she's scared to take the first step on anything she does. Hinoe believes in Ayumi that she has the potential to do great things - Ayumi the budding and hopeful illustrator, the dedicated and the rebel who never let their parents to convince her to "choose a more stable occupation," the dreamer who is passionate about drawing. If Ayumi herself doesn't believe in these, then nobody else will.
However, something is still bothering Ayumi, and Hinoe encourages her to let it out. Ayumi states that there are many people who are better illustrators than her, and thinking that they are her competitions makes her disheartened. Hinoe says that she actualy has a friend who draws for a living, and she wouldn't be where she is today if she didn't take action. Hinoe then hands a book to Ayumi, and tells her about Naho, who makes a name for herself in the field of paranormal research and gains the respect of her peers, and is a strong contender for Akutagawa award. Hinoe also adds that Naho is around the same age as Ayumi, and Naho learned her writing and problem solving skills by her own, and keeps writing because it's fun. So, just like Hinoe, Ayumi has to have faith in her abilities and keep trying; in fact even Hinoe still has to deal with people who are against her, yet she keeps reminding herself what she's doing is what she loves.
Ayumi appears decided on what to do: she will continue what she wants to do and also promise her sister that, one day, she will be the one to design the covers of Naho's books. Hinoe admires Ayumi's goal and she will show the book Ayumi designed to her clients when that day comes. Ayumi asks if Hinoe will support her dream, to which Hinoe agrees. Ayumi hugs Hinoe and says how much she loves her sister, and they both laugh together. Hinoe promises to always be supportive of Ayumi.
EXCHAP 5
Ayumi enters her classroom to find Yui who asks Ayumi if she is better after not being at school for two days. Ayumi feels fit as a fiddle! She had a doctor's appointment that morning, and everything is all good, which Yui is glad to hear.
Ayumi then wishes to continue the conversation that she and Yui had started the other day; she wants to know if it's true that Yui doesn't have a boyfriend, to which Yui confirms, before bringing up someone who she did go out with back when she was a student, with Ayumi asking for all the juicy details. Yui tells Ayumi that she would meet up with him on the third floor, wearing a uniform just like Ayumi's while reminiscing the good memories. Ayumi comments that the spot is good and it seems nice and romantic, before asking what kind of person he was. Yui describes him as kind but had a tough guy way of speaking which didn't help him in coming across that way; his harsh words had an element of kindness in them. Yui further adds that she felt like only she could really understand him.
Ayumi really admires Yui's story. When Ayumi asks how far did she got with him, Yui responds that she never kiss and tell before bringing up that they never actually kissed. Ayumi is surprised and disappointed. They were nervous just by holding each other's hands after all! Ayumi thinks she also feels the same as her teacher. Yui felt satisfied by holding hands because she felt like their hearts were connected. Ayumi comments on how romantic it was. Yui thinks it might not be good by today's standards but Ayumi thinks it's wonderful.
Suddenly, Yoshiki walks in with the class's day duty roster, which annoys Ayumi as they were "getting to the good part of their conversation." Yoshiki asks why Ayumi is here, but Ayumi becomes annoyed and tells him she's talking to Yui. Yoshiki comments that they seem to have fun, before Ayumi tells him to get out as the conversation is between girls only. Yoshiki then puts the duty roster down on the nearest desk and leaves the room. Yui then reminds Ayumi that she is on day roster with Yoshiki, but Ayumi seemed to forget about it. Yui comments that "he's a good boy," which confuses Ayumi. She asks Yui who did she meant, and Yui giggles.
EXCHAP 6
The chapter takes place in one of the corridors of Kisaragi Academy, during the cultural festival. Ayumi, sitting on a chair, is approached by Naomi and Seiko. They congratulate each other, for their nice work done in organizing the festival. Seiko asks Ayumi about their red bean soup shop, who answers that she's shocked it attracted a lot of customers. Seiko says it's actually the poster, drawn by Ayumi, which drew in the crowd. Ayumi is glad to hear that her work has been appreciated, especially when Naomi asks her if she can take a copy of it to bring home, after the festival.
Soon after, Satoshi and Yoshiki reach the girls and inform them about a haunted house set up by the students of classroom 2-5, and ask them if they would like to join them since they are heading there. Naomi and Seiko immediately agree, but Ayumi can't join them because she has to tend the shop and prompts the others to go without her. Yoshiki, however, feeling bad to leave her alone, decides to stay, but Ayumi tells him not to worry about her and that she will be fine. The group then, after Naomi's promise to bring her at least something to drink when they return, leaves. Finally Ayumi sits on the chair, saying how much she hates it when people go out of their way to her.
Corpse Party: Book of Shadows
Episode #1; 『Seal』=
She appears in the opening during the preparation for the culture festival, greeting Naomi who was bringing in the bowls for it. She helps to wash them again after Seiko caused Naomi to drop them. She then participated in the culture festival along with the other characters. Eventually her and the other characters are left alone to clean up the classroom, and is disappointed that the other students left them. She, along with the other characters, say goodbye, but then tells everybody about the Sachiko Ever After charm. She, along with the other characters, dismiss Satoshi's strange behavior, and do the charm.
Episode #2; 『Demise』
Ayumi appears in a flashback by Yoshiki. She is in the showers when Yoshiki comes in from the pool. They find a wire in one of the showers, and use it to pick the lock to Room 4-A. She has a feeling of deja vu and waits by the entrance while Yoshiki avoids Ryou to open a trap door to the Custodian's office, where they enter and find a small box. After Yoshiki starts to investigate the closet, Ayumi starts mumbling to herself. When Yoshiki says something she tells him to shut up and starts beating her head against a wall before smacking him and running off. In the present, she is found in the Reference room, reading books after piling a corpse against the door. When Mayu and Yoshiki start talking to her, she is still possessed and the spirits ask if they can keep her body, which Yoshiki angrily denies. She then refers to Yoshiki as "brother" and starts biting his neck. Yoshiki hugs her, and she is snapped out of her possession. They find a report about the murders of the children. They then relax in the hallway, and take a short nap. When Mayu returns after seeing Nana killed, Ayumi and Yoshiki question her, which causes Mayu to run away.
Prologue; 『BloodDrive』
She also appears in the bonus eighth episode, BloodDrive, but again she is not playable.
Two weeks after the events of Corpse Party, Ayumi finds Naomi in front of Seiko's home, preventing her from confronting Yuu Shinohara and the rest of Seiko's siblings of her existence, as they both were already aware it was impossible. However Ayumi does come around with good, yet unsettling news. News pertaining to the residence of Yoshie and Sachiko Shinozaki in the farm town of Kishi located near to Tenjin. The two head to the area to find answers and hopefully find some means of restoring the memory of their friends, however things would go array very quickly.
Upon arriving in Kishi, Naomi and Ayumi discover that the Shinozaki estate is not on the map, as such they consult a local. The old woman greets them kindly, but she would soon turn them away the moment the surname, Shinozaki, was mentioned. Despite her turning them away, Naomi and Ayumi turned around to notice the same woman looking straight at them with possessed eyes hinting the possibility that the Shinozaki reputation has more angles than initially believed.
Naomi and Ayumi do eventually find a local who decides to assist them, an old man offers to drive them to the estate with an accent quite close to the country-like tone of Osaka. All seems regal until the truck seemingly begins to accelerate at random periods during the drive, not only that but the old man’s composure changed exponentially, staring coldly towards the two until they finally arrived near the outskirts of the estate.
The estate finally appeared after a return trip to the old man's truck and, once inside, after a short search, a hidden room was discovered, one of them containing the Shinozaki family tree which confirms Naomi's initial question and Ayumi’s fear, a direct relation to the Shinozaki. While the Shinozaki family has only bred female heirs since the Meiji period, Ayumi's father, Ayato, was the first male heir of the Shinozaki bloodline.
Right after finding the family tree, deeper within the room, Ayumi finds the Book of Shadows. After a lengthy discussion of its history, Ayumi soon discovers that Heavenly Host apparently originated from one of the spells within its contents, yet the key spell she was interested in was the spell that promised the resurrection of her friends (providing a nod to ENDING RANK: D-2 from the original CORPSE-PARTY) .
Despite the repercussions, Ayumi and Naomi proceed in casting the spell, and then it blunders horribly, only reviving a faceless Mayu. Why the spell failed was a mystery, but it was more than likely due to the fact that the person in question no longer exists in their plane of reality. As such, any attempt would fail, and this failure was not one that was easy to escape from.
Ayumi is attacked by the rage of the Book of Shadows, failing the ritual and sparking the anger within. Just in time, Hinoe rushes in and quells the rage but only for a short time. Hinoe then hugs Ayumi, who cries on her chest, wondering why Hinoe is there. However, Ayumi is then bathed in the blood of her sister, as her head suddenly splits from her body, as the game ends with Ayumi's shriek.
Corpse Party: Blood Drive
CHAPTER 00 『 A Faint Light 』
The chapter continues from the event that happened in Prologue; 『BloodDrive』 of "Corpse Party: Book of Shadows" and narrated from Ayumi's point of view. Ayumi screams when her sister, Hinoe, died in front of her eyes when her head fell off from her body. The event skips to two months after the "Book of Shadows" incident. Ayumi was hospitalized due to her critical wounds received from the failed ritual. Naomi was there to carry Ayumi out from the crumbling Shinozaki Estate, and both were picked up on the side of an old mountain road and then rushed to the hospital. The Book of Shadows was buried in the rubble of the collapsed estate.
Ayumi feels guilty and responsible when she remembers about the fates of her friends who died in Heavenly Host. Ayumi is released from the hospital, and the next day she returns to Kisaragi Academy and stops in front of the gates. She's reminded of her dead friends and the fact that their existence has been erased from the reality that they are living in right now. Satoshi then calls Ayumi out, then she sees Naomi, Yoshiki, and Yuka along with him; they are all the survivors of the Heavenly Host incident. Being the only people who share the memories of their lost friends, they have become the only people they can truly open up to.
Naomi congratulates Ayumi on her recovery, before Ayumi starts sobbing and Naomi hugs her. After everyone there congratulated Ayumi on her discharge and shared words of encouragement, Ayumi enters the school gate. However, she didn't realize that the curse of Heavenly Host was growing and a girl named Rin Sakuma who performed the no longer functional Sachiko Ever After with her friends is killed by having her spine broken.
Ayumi's mother, Asuka Shinozaki, is watching the news about Rin's mysterious death when Ayumi comes back from school and enters the living room. Asuka doesn't know what really happened to her daughters two months ago. She believed that Ayumi tripped and fell on a cutting tool, and hopes that she doesn't dabble in occult stuff like Hinoe. Ayumi then yells to leave her alone and leaves the room, while Asuka ponders how Hinoe disappeared like always and wonders where she is now.
Ayumi runs and enters Hinoe's room. Hearing about her sister reminds her of her sister's death. She starts to hit and punch the wall and cries, calling her sister, then falls to her knees, followed by a flashback to the moment of Hinoe's death. Blades sliced Hinoe's flesh so rapidly that her body never touched the ground. Horrified by the scene she saw, Ayumi grabbed Hinoe's body to pull her to safety, despite it being in vain, but Hinoe pushed her back using the little strength she had left. Ayumi could hear Hinoe's voice to live on and that she would always be in her heart. Ayumi screamed and began to run in a circle, and Naomi caught her before she ran into the fire. Naomi then dragged her to leave the estate despite her begging Naomi to let her go, still in shock of her sister's death.
Ayumi stands up and knocks everything on top of Hinoe's dresser to the floor, and grabs a pair of scissors among all the scattered stuff. She then proceeds to hurt herself repeatedly, and thinks she should've been the one to die, before she hears a voice telling her to go ahead and die. Ayumi stops and sees a mysterious man by the window. She then asks who he is, but the boy responds that she doesn't need to know his name if she's about to die and starts to taunt her that she is not serious about killing herself. Ayumi lifts the scissors again, but the boy taunts her again over and over. Ayumi then yells at him, asking who he is and why he is here. The boy replies that he's a nobody and then gives her a piece of 10-yen Gum before jumping out the window and leaves. Ayumi starts to sob again, asking how she can repent for her sins, believing that Heavenly Host Elementary is gone.
After school was over, Naomi talks to Ayumi, feeling worried about her condition and tries to comfort her. Ayumi's left hand was wrapped in bandages and still hurting, but she ignores it and gives Naomi an empty smile. Ayumi apologizes to Naomi and promises that she won't cause any trouble to others anymore. Naomi is confused about what Ayumi means by "trouble," but Ayumi can't answer her question and leaves the classroom.
As Ayumi walks, she thought back to her time when she was in hospital. A woman named Mirai Yamamura came to visit her, and introduced herself as a colleague of her sister Hinoe. Together, they are the members of Wicca Institute, an association that worships spirits. Mirai explains that Hinoe contacted her the day when Ayumi went to the Shinozaki estate, and she came there to bestow Hinoe's last wish, that is, to retrieve the Book of Shadows, a forbidden grimoire passed down through the Shinozaki family for generations. Mirai then handed Ayumi a notepad with the name Makina Shinozaki and Makina's address written on it. Ayumi recognized the name, having seeing it on the Shinozaki Family Tree at the basement of the Shinozaki estate. Mirai explained that Makina's house is deserted now, and Ayumi might have a clue that will lead her to find the missing Book of Shadows, and they have tried entering the room, but they could not get in there because of their strong connection with the spirit world. Mirai asked Ayumi to try fulfilling Hinoe's last request if she has the strength to do so, and then left the room.
Ayumi heads toward Makina Shinozaki's residence, Shimorenjaku South Apartments. As she explores the apartment's outside, suddenly she hears footsteps. Ayumi waits until somebody walks down the stairs, but nobody shows up. As Ayumi approaches the stairs, suddenly the mailbox opens, startling her. Ayumi then inspects the content in the mailbox, and discovers a bird's skeletal remains when she unwrapped the tissue paper stuffed inside the mailbox. Ayumi fell to the ground, startled. She then learned that the opened mailbox was Makina's mailbox.
Ayumi heads upstairs and she overhears someone arguing. Ayumi asks if someone's there, but she thought it might be just her imagination. Ayumi then lights her flashlight and starts exploring. Ayumi knocks on Makina's door, but nobody is answering. She then presses the bell, but the power is out and only produces a clicking sound. When Ayumi tries to open the door, her phone suddenly vibrates, revealing an unknown number. When Ayumi answers the call, she hears Makina's voice telling her "Don't go" repeatedly from her phone and the dialer phone number turns into all four ('shi' in Japanese, which sounds similar to 'death'). Ayumi thinks her phone might be broken, and she hears a clicking sound from the door, and Ayumi opens the apartment front door. Having learned from her previous mistakes at Yoshie's house, Ayumi brought a tape recorder with her and begins recording her investigation of Makina's house.
Ayumi then encounters a red box on top of Makina's futon, and when she attempts to take it, Makina's ghost appears before her. She tries to escape, but just when Makina's ghost seems to corner her with no way to escape, Yoshiki, Satoshi, and Naomi come to her rescue.
When Ayumi gets home, she tries really hard to open her palm which she couldn't open when she was in Makina's apartment. She finally manages to open her hand, only to discover a pair of baby's teeth embedded in her palm, leaving Ayumi puzzled.
CHAPTER 01 『 Returning 』
The next day, Yoshiki and Ayumi go to a cafe near Kisaragi Academy to talk with Aiko Niwa. She infers that the two were survivors of Heavenly Host due to the color of their auras. Ayumi is informed that she is also the one who sold the information to Naho Saenoki.
Ayumi and Yoshiki are then informed by Aiko that Heavenly Host was not destroyed after they and their friends escaped from there. Aiko produces a "thoughtograph" depicting Yuki Kanno in Heavenly Host Elementary School, and also informs Ayumi that the red box from Makina's apartment she gave to her yesterday contained the Everafter Stones which can transport them to Heavenly Host. Ayumi and Yoshiki are informed by Aiko about the origin of Heavenly Host Elementary School and its true form, the Nirvana, about the Book of Shadows and about the Shinozaki curse. Aiko proposes that she and Ayumi can work together; Aiko plans to make Heavenly Host as a spiritual tour destination while Ayumi can come to retrieve the Book of Shadows as a descendant of Shinozaki and revive her dead friends there.
Ayumi is uncertain whether the Book of Shadows is truly in Heavenly Host or whether the Everafter Stones really work as Aiko claims. Aiko joins together the pieces of stone and a stream of energy formed around her, which shocked both Ayumi and Yoshiki that the stones really work. Yoshiki asks Aiko whether Aiko wants to keep the stones all by herself, since Ayumi is the one who risked to retrieve the stones in the first place, and after thinking about it, Aiko agrees that Ayumi can keep a piece of the stones so that neither of them can go to Heavenly Host by themselves. Ayumi agrees with Aiko's idea and keeps one of the stones.
As Yoshiki walks Ayumi home, she mentions that she hates Aiko and she will break the stones after she has revived her four dead friends. Yoshiki agrees and pulls the other stone from his pocket, which surprises her. Yoshiki faked putting the other stone back into Aiko's pouch. Ayumi is impressed and jokingly calls him a terrible person. Yoshiki tries to discourage Ayumi from attempting to resurrect their dead friends, but Ayumi pleads with Yoshiki to understand her. Yoshiki decides to keep one of the stones to prevent her going alone. Yoshiki then pats Ayumi's head, assuring her that everything is going to turn out alright. Not expecting Yoshiki's gesture, Ayumi does not know what to do as it stirs mixed feelings within her.
After Ayumi arrives at her home, Ayumi is greeted by her mother who's watching the news about unexplained violent deaths that have been happening recently. Ayumi's mother tells Ayumi to take a bath. As she stares at her reflection in the mirror, she notices the burn marks on her neck, arms, and legs, and ponders that she will receive another blowback if she's not careful with magic. As she tries to reassure herself while taking a bath, the same mysterious man appears and asks if Ayumi is serious about going after the Book of Shadows. Ayumi is surprised and screams. The mysterious man then shows to Ayumi the thoughtograph that Aiko showed her earlier in the day, and points that Yuki is shown to carry an object resembling a book in her hand, and he tells Ayumi that the Book of Shadows is in Heavenly Host. The man then gives Ayumi a 10-yen gum, and then leaps out from the bathroom window. Ayumi's mother comes running with a broom in her hands and barges into the bathroom after hearing Ayumi's scream earlier, but Ayumi is still dumbfounded.
Yoshiki is walking to his house from his part-time job late in the evening when he notices that Ayumi has been waiting for him outside. Yoshiki then offers Ayumi to come in and treats her to some hot tea. Yoshiki then asks the reason she came to his house. Ayumi tells Yoshiki that she has decided to go to Heavenly Host and she wants to take the other stone from him. Yoshiki tries desperately to warn Ayumi about the danger. Ayumi then shows the thoughtograph that the mysterious man has given her to Yoshiki that the Book of Shadows is in Heavenly Host and they can save the trapped souls from the Nirvana. Ayumi suddenly is reminded of the time when she had failed to resurrect Mayu, but she shakes her head trying to dismiss the thought, and she has made up her mind. She asks whether Yoshiki trusts her, as she thinks she can't discuss the topic with anyone else.
Yoshiki tells Ayumi that she does not have to worry and he will protect her no matter what like how he promised. Hearing this, Ayumi is overwhelmed and begins to cry. Yoshiki then asks Ayumi to give him her stone, which she does. After approximating the time, Yoshiki quickly opens the window and throws both of the stones to the street just before a truck is about to pass by. They can hear the stones breaking like glass after the truck drives over them. Ayumi is shocked and slaps Yoshiki for his action and yells that she should have not trusted him. Yoshiki yells back that he cannot let her go back to Heavenly Host, and points out the many assumptions she had made and that she did not have any plan which would only lead to her death. Ayumi begins to cry and speaks ill of him before she runs outside to search for the stones.
After searching for a while, Ayumi finds the stones intact even though they had been run over by a truck. Suddenly, the mysterious man appears and tries to convince Ayumi to use the stones and go to Heavenly Host. Ayumi asks the man whether he is on her side. Suddenly, Yoshiki comes and after realizing the stones are still intact, tries to talk to Ayumi to give them to him. Ayumi refuses and the mysterious man throws Yoshiki onto a wall with magical force. The man then introduces himself as Misuto Kiriya, a member of the Yagoura Society and Hinoe's protege. Ayumi is surprised that the man knows about her sister. Ayumi and Misuto then join the Everafter Stones together. Misuto gives Ayumi his charm, the Argus Cube, and tells her to hold onto it. Yoshiki writhes in pain and tries to tell Ayumi to not go, but Ayumi has made up her mind and tells him to not worry about her anymore. After yelling the incantation, both Ayumi and Misuto jump into Heavenly Host.
Ayumi awakens inside a classroom in Heavenly Host and realizes that Misuto is missing; and along with him the Everafter Stones. She sees multiple phantoms and ghostly writing on the chalkboard. After exiting the classroom, she is startled by the loud chiming of a clock. Ayumi decides to leave a message for Misuto along with with her phone number so they can stay in contact. She continues to wander around until she hears footsteps and a voice; upon locating a Loose Board, Ayumi crosses a gap in the floor and heads after the voice. Ayumi is startled by a ghostly apparition before her, and quickly turns to run away. However, she is met by the spirit of Mayu Suzumoto, who is calling out Sakutaro Morishige's name. Ayumi calls out to her, saying how she has come to revive her and her other dead classmates. Mayu turns around, revealing a smashed and blood-coated face. Mayu repeats Morishige's name over and over, getting louder each time, and begins chasing Ayumi. Ayumi runs down various hallways, eventually escaping Mayu when she runs into Yuki Kanno and a Red Helm. The Red Helm swings its massive axe towards Ayumi, causing her to black out.

Ayumi manages to recover after being punched really hard in the stomach by Misuto. Aiko offers assistance to support Ayumi, and together they plan to retrieve the Book of Shadows which Misuto has stolen. On their way, they are confronted by Magari. Magari teases her that she can easily kill Ayumi now that she has lost the Book of shadows and reverts back to become a normal human again before she produces the Book of Shadows. As Ayumi plans to take it back, Magari mentions that she was ordered to retrieve the tome, which made Ayumi to be Magari's enemy. She told Ayumi to stop trusting people so easily and returns the book to Ayumi because she expects to see more from Ayumi, because she wants to see people who don't bore her and gives her a sense of challenge to entertain her now that her "rival" Naho is dead. After some explanations and words of encouragement for Ayumi to seal back the Nirvana back into the Book of Shadows, Magari leaves.
Ayumi tells Aiko to rejoin with the others now that she is fine with the Book of Shadows in her possession, but Aiko refuses and insists on going with her. Ayumi decides to leave a note for the others and goes to the center of the Nirvana. On their way, they hear Seiko Shinohara's voice, which surprises Ayumi. Ayumi notices that it must have been Seiko's residual spirit, and apologizes for the consequence of her action which cause Seiko's existence to be erased.
Ayumi and Aiko gives into a classroom where a spirit board can be found and manages to communicate with Seiko. After a heartfelt reunion, Ayumi and Aiko continue their way exploring the Nirvana until they arrive in Makina Shinozaki's residence, which somehow is connected to the Nirvana. Aiko explains that it occurs due to the connection of the closed spaces in the Nirvana being twisted. After exploring the residence, they found a puzzle with three hanging bodies. After solving the puzzle, they manage to unlock the sealed door and proceed ahead.
CHAPTER 10 『 Reparations 』
Ayumi ascends down the stairs after winning her fierce battle with Queen with her right eye gauged out. She immediately tells her friends that it is alright - a small price to pay for Queen to pass on to the afterlife. She tells her friends that she knows that no matter how many times she apologizes it will never make up for this whole mess she caused, so she will not ask for their forgiveness. She mentions that in order to restore the existences of their dead friends she is going to do what Sachiko did years ago - swallow the nirvana whole. Because her spiritual power is far inferior to Sachiko's, her body will be in a permanently damaged physical and mental state, and she will lose her existence as well.
The others (especially Yoshiki) beg Ayumi not to go through with it, as they have all gone through too much to not return home with all their friends still alive. Yoshiki begins screaming and crying at Ayumi to stop thinking about other people and to think about herself. This makes her façade crack, tears streaming down her face. The book tells her that she could easily keep the Nirvana intact and take over the guardian role of it like the past Shinozaki's did, but Ayumi wants to put a stop to this all at once and not leave the burden to the next generation.
Before the others leave, Ayumi says one final word to Yoshiki about how she always noticed how much he cared about her, and it made her really happy when he patted her on the head back there. Magari remains the only one who has no reaction to this at the time, and she tells Ayumi she is really something for doing such a noble deed. Not wanting her sacrifice to be for nothing, she yells at the others to get their "asses moving" because they cannot stop her even of they want to anyway. "She's a Shinozaki, it's her right." Finally everyone leaves, but Yoshiki takes one look back to see the body of Misuto. He comes up with a plan and ditches his friends to use the Everafter Stones and bring Ayumi back to the real world.
After the credits roll, Ayumi is shown to be sitting in a wheelchair in Hinoe's room with her missing eye covered with a medical eyepatch. She apparently is in a vegetative state. She mumbles that she can use the Book of Shadows to bring happiness to everyone, and that she would protect everyone and did her best, and that she is fine with being alone. In the mirror, a reflection of Sachi can be seen instead of hers. The doorbell to Ayumi's home suddenly rings, and Sachi disappears from the mirror. It turns out that it is Yoshiki who rings the bell with the Everafter Stones in his hands and exclaims, "Finally, I found it!" (Ayumi's house, referring to Yoshiki who couldn't find her house earlier in Chapter 1).
Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient
Chapter 1
In a cutscene at the beginning of Chapter 1, Ayumi sits in a wheelchair by the window with an empty expression and unfocused eyes. Yoshiki Kishinuma then pulls her away from the window so that she doesn't catch a cold.Significant plot details end here.
Relationships
Ayumi is shown on the outside to be one that can make friends and fit in, this suits for a way to hide her real feelings of being one who doubts herself and never going forward, making sure everyone else is happy and not let her hold them back.
Hinoe Shinozaki
Hinoe is Ayumi's big sister. Ayumi really loves her sister, seeing her as a mentor and protector at the same time. It always irritated her how their parents talk about Hinoe's choice in life. She is the one Ayumi trusts the most, knowing she can always rely on her support, comfort, and guidance. The two often sit side by side on Hinoe’s bed, and talk about regular and paranormal things for long periods of time. The loss of her sister scars Ayumi for life, blaming herself for her death.
Satoshi Mochida
Ayumi has a crush on Satoshi, believing him to be the only boy who would remain faithful (this due to her distrust of men and, to a lesser extent, Yoshiki Kishinuma). Because of this, Satoshi is her greatest weakness. She is insecure about how she appears to Satoshi, and in the Corpse Party: Blood Covered manga she falls asleep in class and has a nightmare when she realizes Satoshi doesn't like flat-chested girls. Also in the manga, while possessed she was shown to imagine being with Satoshi and attempting to kiss him. In an extra manga chapter, Ayumi is shown to want to be with Satoshi even if it meant putting him in a maid outfit during the Cultural Festival, although it's interrupted when a bunch of guys hit on Satoshi while Ayumi watches from afar. In another extra chapter, we see Ayumi telling the class to exchange emails for the upcoming Cultural Festival, but in the end it was revealed to be a ploy for Ayumi to get Satoshi's email to be in contact with him.
Yoshiki Kishinuma
During the series, Ayumi is shown to look at Yoshiki as the delinquent most others see him as she has shown time and time again that she would prefer Satoshi over him any day. Ayumi is also shown to be very oblivious to the feelings Yoshiki has for her, always with Satoshi on her mind, even when others like Azusa Takai notice and she always sees his actions as self-gains and not always as savings or sacrifices he makes for her. She only saved him from the gym teacher for she was just doing a kind action, while Yoshiki saw it as a sign that kept him on the right path. Throughout the series, Yoshiki is also shown not to act on opportunities that can show that he cares for Ayumi and she just moves on from when he does little things. In Corpse Party: Blood Drive, Ayumi finally got around to seeing that Yoshiki really cared for her.
Naomi Nakashima
Her relationship with Naomi prior to entering Heavenly Host was friendly, with a small amount of jealousy and rivalry. Beneath the surface she always considered Naomi as her rival, knowing her affection for Satoshi, without Naomi knowing about Ayumi's feelings. She was jealous of Naomi's figure, especially to her breast size, fearing Satoshi doesn't like flat chested girls. Inside Heavenly Host, her jealousy takes a toll on her, seeing how close Satoshi and Naomi really are. This causes her to show the sign of darkening. But after the events of Heavenly Host, this rivalry seems to be calmed down seeing a kindred spirit in Naomi who suffers from the memories of Heavenly Host. The shared desire causes them to search around the Shinozaki Estate, helping and supporting each other due to their scars.
Etymology
- The name Ayumi is written in hiragana (あゆみ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (亜由美 or 歩), it could possibly mean:
- 亜由美 - "second, Asia" (亜) (a), "reason, case, cause" (由) (yu) and "beautiful" (美) (mi).
- 歩 - "walk, step".
- Ayumi's surname Shinozaki means "dwarf bamboo" (篠) (shino) and "cape, peninsula" (崎) (saki/zaki).
Trivia
- Ayumi has anemia and as a result she hyperventilates easily when frightened.
- Ayumi is much like Naho when it comes to being able to sense and feel ghosts. In Corpse Party, she is possessed in chapters 2 and 4. In Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, she is possessed in the second episode.
- In the Corpse Party: Book of Shadows Character Contest, Ayumi ranked 1st place with 92 votes.
- Ayame Itou was to dress up as Ayumi in her school uniform if you own the Corpse Party 2: DEAD PATIENT Trial Version with Limited C83 Costume. However this, sadly, was a broken feature, with the model not loading and the texture unfinished.
- In the Corpse Party: Blood Covered manga, Ayumi seems to possess glasses that she uses for reading, as the only time it is seen is when Ayumi and Yoshiki are writing a message to their friends in Classroom 1-A and in two chapter covers, one of which she is digitally drawing.
- Also, Yoshie mistook Ayumi for Chizuru Shinozaki, Ayumi's great-grandmother.
- In Wrong End 4★5, for the 3DS version, there seems to be a mistake. Ayumi's sprite's hair is fixed to dark blue, but Ayumi's cannibalized body still had the old sprite with brown hair.
- In the PSP and iOS version, Ayumi's hair color is changed to dark blue in the character portraits. However, her sprite still used the brown hair from the PC version. This was fixed in the 3DS version.
- Based on Yoshiki's statement in the second volume of the Dead Patient Drama CD, Ayumi's mental condition returns sometimes to her original state.
